Day 119

This is looking out of kitchen window while I was cooking dinner, the sky was amazing and the water clear and calm. This morning we traveled to Merida and Bears En LaPlaya is a done deal recognized as a legal Corporation. We are getting ready for business soon. Date of the grand opening will be announced soon. They have chipped the wall to the beach and it will be repaired soon. The closet in the Master suite has all the shelves poured, the bathroom up stairs has the walls up and they finished pouring the sink for the bar upstairs. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Also the shower in the master suite has been poured as well. My girls arrive in four days, I am super excited for them to be here. Day 118

Simple day here at Bears en LaPlaya. The ceiling fan for the master bathroom is installed, it has clear plastic blades. The bar counter top was poured today and the roof top bathrooms walls are still being laid. It is amazing what the workers here can do with concrete and mostly man made tools. The things I most admire about the worker who work long hours with little pay is that they are always smiling and willing to do anything you ask then do and take so much pride in their work. Tomorrow, we head back again to Merida to the Mexican IRS . I will say good night and Rob Teichman and I are sending big bear hugs to all of our family and friends. Sleep well, rest well and prepare your mind set to be a blessing to someone tomorrow. Xo

Day 117

what an amazing day here Chelem Mexico. The weather was great, the breeze was wonderful and worker accomplish a lot. Rob and I both have sumer colds. I ended up going to the doctor’s yesterday but Rob Teichman only needed his Jewish Penicillin, his mother’s home made chicken soup, so I made it for him. However, he does love my chicken soup it will never be as good as his mom’s. The pool looked amazing from the roof top deck so I took a picture of it. Pictures 2 and 3 are the closet being built, pictures 4 and 5 are the roof top deck’s bar and bathroom being built. I didn’t take a picture of the middle column on the beach side being taken down, but yay it’s gone. We now have an open view of the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. We had dinner at the Bullpen, as we do every Wednesday because they have local artists come and sell their items. It’s always fun to see their work. I am so excited, in 5 days I get to hugs my babies, Haven Bickford and Micaela Bickford, who will be visiting for a week and then when they leave, a few days later Billie Guthrie and Tammy Cheryl Kiser come in for a week. I feel so blessed beyond words. Good night from Mexico and remember to never give up, dreams do come true. Xoxo

Happy Valentine’s Day. I hope u all had a wonderful day. A lot of work was accomplished today. The revealing of the beam beach side, the top side of the roof being sealed, the closet being built and Rob Teichman’s new ceiling fan was installed. I went to the doctor today because I knew I had a sinus infection, a quick, no wait visit and three prescriptions only cost me 35 dollars. We ended the day having an amazing Valentine’s dinner at Thai Bistro with friends. Good night and may the simple blessings become treasure memories.

Day 112

What an amazing day here at Bears en LaPlaya. The pool is filled and lit. It looks amazing. In picture two, you can see the reason the original beam cracked, there was no real foundation, so the workers had to dig deep, and poured a new foundation. Also the work in the master suite continues, the tile accent wall is completed and the bathroom walls are being cemented. Things are progressing nicely. I fixed a wonderful chicken dish with pesto sauce and yesterday our friend Cindy that owns the Lol Ha, restaurant made homemade perogies and cabbage rolls so those were our side, delicious, thank you Cindy. We had our first booking my way of mouth but today we had our first booking by way of advertising on the Internet. So excited.

Day 107

Saturday Feb 4, 2017. As always on Saturday, I cook lunch for the crew, no matter how many. Today I had 9 workers. I cooked a 3 kilo pork loin and then shredded it and made BBQ sandwiches, with rice and red beans, it was a big hit. The plumber repaired the broken pipe to the well, the workers started rebuilding the pump housing unit, and the ceilings received a smooth coat in preparation for painting. The workers only work a half of day on Saturday, so as soon as they left, Rob Teichman and I went for a swim, and then I took a nap. We ended the day having dinner at Sliders with our friend Klauida. We have started watching a new series on Netflix, the Magicians, I am a little lost, lol. We have plans to celebrate a friend’s birthday tomorrow so I may not get to watch the game, so may the best team win. I am leaning towards the Falcons, only because I am southern boy born and raised I Florida.

Day 106

I started the day with fresh avocados and cottage cheese and a little seasoning my niece Gail Bickford Schroeder brought me on her visit here. We then drove to Progreso to pay our electric bill. They started putting in the bambo over Danny Teichman ‘s memorial garden. I love it. We had a little mishap, we had a painter stand on the pump storage unit and fell through (only about a foot in length) but he broke the pipe to the pump so it will be fixed tomorrow. In the evening we drove into Merida to pick up an ice maker for the bar up stairs and ended up at an amazing Mediterranean restaurant with open air dinning. . They had dancers in gorgeous Mexican costumes dancing with bottles balancing on their heads. We love it. I will say goodnight and remind you all to shoot for the moon and enjoy whatever star you land on. Hugs
